Biography
Kim Asendorf is a visual and conceptual digital artist working with real-time generative systems. He is widely known for his Pixel Sorting script, the creation of file formats as artworks and First animated GIF sent into Deep Space – Humans watching Digital Art. With roots in Net Art, Asendorf favors accessibility and considers the internet his preferred canvas.
By obsessing over his work at the pixel level, Asendorf creates eye-catching, never-ending, software-based systems. His work has been shown at festivals and institutions worldwide, including ZKM Karlsruhe, Expanded Art, Eyebeam, NIMK, Moving Image Contemporary Art Fair (London), Creation Gallery G8 (Tokyo), Office Impart (Berlin) and XPO Gallery (Paris).
