Copper Frances Giloth

Copper Frances Giloth is a pioneering new media artist whose practice spans drawings, books, animations, videos, websites, installations and virtual environments. Copper Giloth earned her MFA in Electronic Visualization from the University of Illinois in 1980, being the first person to graduate from the program. Early in her career, she helped organize the first ACM SIGGRAPH Art Show Competitions in 1982 and 1983 that travelled internationally. Giloth’s work has been featured in international festivals, galleries and museums, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the National Academy of Sciences in Washington, D.C., the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and ACM SIGGRAPH.
