Chromie Squiggles is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable and influential generative art series ever to be released, becoming an icon of digital art culture. Created by Snowfro as the genesis project for Art Blocks, Chromie Squiggles would mark the start of an incredible journey for on-chain generative art. With 18 years of experience working with ceramic tiles, Snowfro often worked with a range of colors and gradients that would eventually be incorporated into the Chromie Squiggle system. Each variation minted displays a gradient of hues from 0-256, with the ever sought-after “Perfect Spectrums” displaying a complete and full range of hues within a single color spread. Additionally, the structure of each variation can be classified as normal, slinky, fuzzy, ribbed, bold, or pipe. Chromie Squiggles are an interactive system, allowing users to toggle animation with a click of the mouse, adjust speed of color rotation using up/down, and the ability to change the background color with the spacebar. Snowfro hopes that Chromie Squiggles represent more than just art, but rather a specific culture of kindness and empathy.
Chromie Squiggle #7997 is a stunning showcase of the rare HyperRainbow trait, where the determined color spread is extremely small and generates 22 colors per step. There are currently only 127 HyperRainbows minted.
Simple and easily identifiable, each squiggle embodies the soul of the Art Blocks platform. Consider each my personal signature as an artist, developer, and tinkerer. Public minting of the Chromie Squiggle is permanently paused.
They are now reserved for manual distribution to collectors and community members over a longer period of time. Please visit OpenSea to explore Squiggles available on the secondary market.
